2 days ago I got myself a bag with salted pumpkin seeds... what a stupid idea!!!! I have cuts on my tongue!!
Today is my non smoke day 4, I feel ok, the only challenge is that my mother is coming for the weekend and she is a smoker...

I will just have to ignore her when she starts smoking and if she leaves the cigs around they will go straight to the Sink Food Waste Disposer LOL
I know! At day four I can not be nice to smokers near me..LOL.!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor mom! It wont be a nice week end for her !

Back and last (first day)

I am a visual guy, the messages of images are faster absorbed by my brain LOL
Images help to reinforce ideas. They are stronger than words I think. (not always...)

Very calm today, I haven't had any bad feelings during day. The 2 first nights were terrible. Last night was peaceful, no sweating.

I told mom that if she wants to smoke she has to go to the end of the garden ... crawl inside the bushes and smoke there.

Hey mom...the bushes!!! ... the bushes!!       Not the door step!

Check my stop smoking video. It is a 1951 Goofy No Smoking Cartoon.
Politically incorrect in some ways but still has a good message of how bad cigs are.
Just don't give attention to the end...LOL... he fails!!!!!!!!! Bad ending!

First day off of the smokes! HELP!

Forgive my English, I am not from an English speaking country.

I am 39, have been smoking since I was 18.
I had several attempts to quit using gum, medicine, acupuncture, filter systems. I got to the conclusion that none of them were for me... If I wanted to quit it would have to be COLD TURKEY.
I didn't see any point of chewing nicotine to get rid of smoke nicotine... The medicine my doctor prescribed did not work well with me, after 4 days having it I had one of the rare but possible side effects, I was alone at home at the computer and my head started to feel as if I was having electric shocks and I lost vision for some minutes.  It was very scary, I thought I was dying!!

So I lay down for some time on the floor and it all went away after about 10 minutes. I called the Brazilian national poisoning help phone and they told me to stop immediately to take the medicine. After this experience i decided to quit without any sort of substitute or medicine.

My opinion here is personal, stop smoking stuff might work for you! It just didn't for me.

I think the first step is to put in your mind that you are not getting rid of a friend... YOU ARE GETING RID OF THE ENEMY DESGISED AS A FRIEND. Enemy that is killing you a little each day.

Be positive!! Don't moan...don't be sad that you wont have a smoke.

Be happy that you are giving a chance to your body to become healthy again.
Think of cigarettes as the ENEMY.

I decided to use my brain as my non smoking tool, it has been working and I am very pleased! Past attempts have been really hard and suffering.

This time I just concluded the first week ...feeling very calm, happy, I really don't know how it works but it seems that succeeding depends on what you want to gain and not on what you want to loose.

Just some thoughts, thanks for reading.

Back and last (first day)

Hello Breanne and thanks
I feel great...happy...calm
I was so unhappy and feeling constantly defeated when I was smoking.
All the bad feelings have gone. I had no idea that the fact of smoking was doing me so much harm mentally and physically.

It is incredible how my breathing has improved and my sleep at night has become peaceful.

I am getting to the conclusion that smoking kept me in a constant depression status... So glad I am getting rid of it... I better say...
I GOT RID OF IT !

Most people smoke

I smoked for more than 20 years, I always smoked alone. Never socially, with friend. I always had in mind "never smoke in front of children".

Smoking for me was something really ugly. I maintained it for 20 years that way!
I remember going out to the beach with a bunch of friends and I had no way of escaping for a lonely smoke... Saturday night I went all the way back home to smoke peacefully ALONE in my porch...hahahaah
I know...pathetic!
