Hi everyone, Well I am new to this. I just wanted to no how you guys are coping quiting smoking!! I need to quit, and has been along time for me 25yrs. I have tryed once before but only lasted sad to say not even aday. Mood swings etc.
Can anyone let me no how they started and what is the best approach to this. My mother quit , she used the nicatrol inhaler and the patch? Would this be a better option for me than trying to do it cold turkey, and when would be the best time to do it? I work in a stress full job!!
Thanks so much

Hi
Just a little note to say thanks for the support and replys I got back on how to no when to quit and the best method. I really do appreciate it.
I thought about it today and started to read the manual on the train to work. It's in my mind to do and just have to prepare myself for it and do the research on the best approach for me.
Thank you. :)
Hi
I need advise on coping on quitting cold turkey. Have been a smoker for along time, and I am having surgery and have been told I can not smoke for 7 days. Need help to get me through this. I am going to give up but wasn't expecting it to be this soon. I can not use any Nicatrol products inhalers or patches or gum. I can not have any help aid due to the surgery. So any advise out there????
Thanks :8o:
HI
I am not planning to smoke after surgery. But was planning to use smoking aids to help me? But now I can't use anything hence my Dr.
I can't do anything strenuous either. So I am limited what I can do at all. Taking 5 days off work. This is really going to be a test for me. As I can not do anything to keep my mind busy apart from walk the dogs!! I have sent off for those ear magnet's that go on your ear? Not sure if they will help or not. But thanks for your advise
Hi
I finally quit on Sunday, last smoke was saturday pm. I was doing good on sunday no cravings, but Monday? All I can think about is a cig. I try not to. Is this normal feeling you get? I am quitting cold turkey as I have no choice as having surgery and can not use any nicatrol products. But how to you cope with the withdrawel .
HI
I have made it through the first week with no problem? Maybe one or two cravings but passed. The 8th and 9th day I have been craving.
I hear that the second week is not spose to be as bad though you get the craving but it passes. I no that week on is the HELL week. But I am finding it the opposite? Is this normal? to feel this way?
Any output out there how you guys have been feeling by the second week!!!

HI
I hope the third week is better for me, I have had such temptations to light up. I have done this cold turkey, but I do have the nicatrol inhaler which I have used a few times. The first week was easy for me, but towards the end of the second is when it seems to be kicking in. It feels like it's getting more difficult to control?
Yet I haven't lite up just keep drinking decafe coffee instead.

Hi everyone, once again thanks for the support, We all need it. I have to say for some reason I am finding it alittle tougher,It's been two weeks now. Find it more difficult especially on my days off from work. The urge always seems to be there in the background. Some days you feel lost with out the cig I am exercising to keep my mind off things. But then you get the commercials on TV in your face about smoking, when your trying not to think about it. How is everyone else doing? Is week THREE better ??? This is the furthest I have been without. Last time quit cold turkey, that didn't work of course. My Milage:
