Alcohol and My Quit

Hi Kaiti! Alcohol is not the best thing for your body anywow- and has loads of calories... But I fully understand- I'm having gin-tonic at the moment (it's nearly 8pm in Europe)- and I LOVE red wine. I don't think I would be up to drinking in a smoking environment, though. The drinks I allow myself are at home- or last week in a theatre foyer where smoking is prohibited. Good decision you've made. And one day we will be able to savour our wine without fearing cravings! cat My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 323 Amount Saved: 74.29 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 51 Seconds: 1

Who Cares

Blue cloud- sometimes it seems as if, deep down, so many people are egoistic, leaving others alone when they need us most. I'm so often disappointed by others. Death seems so unfair sometimes. Especially when people die alone. But then, I find somebody who cares- and that makes me believe in humanity and love again. You make a difference in this world. Employers billing employees who are unhealthy!

How stupid. This kind of negative campain mght help some people with their quit- or make never-smokers think their hepling me- but it does the contrary: make me want to rebel and smoke 5no, I won't start again- but maybe I could make a fake picture of me smoking on photoshop just to spite these employers.. I'd prefer a smoker with a great attitude to a cranky, witless non-smoker. Einstein, JFK, Sartre, Derrida, Jung, Orson Wells, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, etc etc. I'd urge them to stop- but hey, Einstein, I'd have employed you anytime ! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 19 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 323 Amount Saved: 74.29 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 53 Seconds: 7

Just set my quit date

Hi Mossmann! Great choice to choose to come to this site! I quit loads of times- and this time seems to be doing well- thanks to all the people helping me here! I have understood here that everybodyhas been experiecing their quit differently. It's ben almost 3 weeks for me (yeah!!)- and I am gradually starting to feel more in control. The urges are still there, but I can kind of smile about them and contol them. At lest that's now. Might get worse again, but I'm ready (I hope ;)). Anyway, I'd say: do your best to indulge yourself, pamper yourself during the first few weeks- at least!!!!! I'm continuing the pampering! Going crazy can happen- but will pass. When is your stop date? I can't see your stats... See you around! small observation for the women

Hi! My first week reward was a manicure- and fake nails. To have beautiful, white (not yellow) nails and so that my fingers felt diferent than they did when I smoked. AND it kept me (or better: the nail specialist) occupied for an hour. And yes, we gain SOOO much time by not smoking... Even if that is not quite true, because we do need breaks- but painting your nails is a break, too!! This week, week 3, I go to the dentists to have him clean my teeth (especiallt at the bck, they are so disgustingly brown...) take care, Cat My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 340 Amount Saved: 78.20 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 13 Mins: 40 Seconds: 25

Party for Newbies, in the Treehouse!!!!

Wow, my first party as a non-smoker (haven't been out since I quit)... Will anybody around here be my chaperone to mke sure I behave myself? Resist the tempation of gorgeous Jorge, whose eyes are winkling at me from across the room. The music is playing (who's that DJ, Unhooked?)- the sun has set and the torches and the bonfires make everything lok so beautiful... I'll have a glass of red wine (strong and ruby red please) if you have any.... Never got used to beer, though I tried my best as a teen ;-) I've brought a bottle of champagne to give as a prize to the most inspired dancer.... Cat 5P.S. Sorry I'm late- time differences....)
