Newbie Here

Hi, my name is Lauren. I'm 23 and have been a smoker for the past 4 years. I smoked about a pack and a half a day. I recently got on Chantix. I'm on my 12th day of Chantix and I have been quit for 4 days! The cravings have not been that bad at all. I've had some nausea with the Chantix, but not too extreme. I never thought I'd be able to quit, but now I am pretty confident. I was wondering if there are any other Chantix users out there who have completed the medication and had any withdrawal symptoms? I am a little worried that I might wind up addicted to Chantix at the end of the 12 weeks. Also, any weight gains? I don't feel like I am gaining weight yet, but I am worried I will. Anyway, I'm glad to be here, and glad there's a support network out there! Lauren

Thanks to everyone, and what wonderful advice and encouragement you all gave. It's so nice to have support. Today was a hard day, mainly because it's the first time something extremely stressful came up...but I made it. I hope everyone else is doing well too!

Chantix users - how did you feel?

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie and also a Chantix user. Today was my 12th pill, and I have been quit for 4 days. I get some nausea in the morning with my first pill, but it passes pretty quickly. I'm just wondering if I should expect a weight gain? I'm a naturally slim person, so I'm hoping my metabolism will work for me, but am kind of worried about it. Not enough to go back to cigarettes, though! I already feel so much better without them. Also, for those of you who have completed Chantix, are you experiencing any withdrawals from the medication or finding the urge to start smoking again? Just curious. Thanks!
