Today is my day!!!

I have tried to quit smoking 5 or 6 times before and was never successful for more than 6 months. I have never tried the patch or anything support groups to help me. This time, I am using the patch. I am joining this support group with hopes someone will be there to help when I feel low. My husband smokes and he is not trying to quit. I need all the help I can get. Thanks!!!!!!!!

Today is my day!!!

Thank you all so much for your support. I picked a heck of a time to quit. I quit the 12th and we went to the lake the 13th through the 17th, so I was with my husband smoking the whole time. Guess what though?????? I DID NOT SMOKE ONE CIGARETTE - NOT ONE PUFF! The patch was making my stomache upset, so I haven't used it since the 13th. Thursday and Friday were HORRIBLE. Thought I would die! I was angry with the world. I was shaking inside and out both days. I didn't think I smoked enough to have withdrawals.... I feel so much better now. It is easier and easier every day. I have a question ---- I read that you can be a little dizzy from your new oxygen intake level, but I am have lightheadedness quite a bit. Did anyone else experience this? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $30.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 5 Seconds: 54

Tonight Makes 1 week

straightflop don't know if you remember or not, but we quit about the same time. congrats on the week. I made it too. it's amazing isn't it??? I spend a lot of time in the car too and that is where I tend to think about smoking the most. I put the smelly stuff in my car too (it helps). The thing that has helps me the most in the car though is I pulled out some of my old CDs, music I really like but haven't heard for a while, and turned it up. Not sure if it will work for somebody else, but it is helping me. one week!!

I made it one week. Couldn't have done it without this site. You all are wonderful. Everytime I feel like I just can't do it I go through and just randomly read posts and realize you all went through the same things I am and you have pulled through it. I know I am a long way from out of the woods, but I feel so much stronger. It gets easier every day. My baby girl (with me in my picture) tells me every day how proud she is of me and I think that is what is making me so strong. Update on my husband: He had no plans on quitting and I didn't ask him to. But, because now he is not smoking in front of me, he has been smoking less and is talking about trying to quit himself. I don't want to push him and am really kind of scared that if he tries to quit and he is just doing it for me and not really ready or doesn't really want to that he is going to be a bear. HELP! Depression

I don't know what is going on today, but I feel so out of it. I am almost loopy and I feel really depressed. It is a little scary. I am usually a very sharp witted person and I feel completely out of it like I couldn't make the simplest of decisions right now. Is this normal? Help guys, this is scaring me a little bit. Did anybody else go through this? Depression

Thanks guys. I feel like such a whiney baby. I am usually a strong, in-charge kinda person and I feel like such a loser right now. I am not a person who asks for help. I like to do everything myself. now that I reread this, I guess I am an *******. In any event, right now I feel like the damsel in distress that I always make fun of. I feel like I need somebody to take care of me or something. It is crazy, crazy crazy. Just want to scream this morning. I want a cigarette bad for the first time in few days. I WILL NOT SMOKE... I WILL NOT SMOKE.... I will stop crying... I will concentrate.... I HATE NICOTINE.... I HATE NOT BEING IN CONTROL.... I HATE NOT BEING HAPPY.... Quit buddy-are you okay?

No problem. I like having someone who quit at the same time as me. I don't know why, but makes me feel stronger..... like if they can do it so can I. Scared me a little bit when I didn't see you post. Had in my head for a second... "if they can't do it, maybe I can't". SCARY!!! In any event happy to know you are okay and we are still "neck and neck"!! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 225 Amount Saved: $45.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 7 Seconds: 57
