My name is sara, I am 30 yrs old. I have been smoking since I was 12, so that makes 18 long years. I have tried to quit many times, at least 6 or 7. I really want this time to be it. My husband is quitting with me, his quit date was the day after mine, I quit on the 4th of this month he quit on the 5th. I am hoping that with the help of a support group and eachother that we can quit for good this time. He has COPD, so am using that as my motivator. I know that this group helped my mom, aka Auntie, quit. If she quit after smoking as long as she did, I know that we can too. I look forwar to getting to know you all. I hope you are all having a great night.

It told me to introduce myslef, so here I am. My name is Sara, I am 30 yrs old, live in Maine, and am tired of smoking. I have smoked for 18 yrs, and figure that is long enough. I have had a couple semi sucessful quits in the past, once for 6 months, and another time for 18 months, and a lot of not so sucessful attemps 3-7 days. I call it practice rounds. I am getting tired of the withdrawals and edgy feelings so think that I should stay quit for good this time. I look forward to hearing from you with any ideas on what to do with my hands. My mom sugessted carring around a straw, I think I will get one today. I am married to a wonderful man who is a smoker. It makes it hard sometimes to see him going outside for a smoke when I am having a strong craving, but so far am hanging on. I know that I can do this.

Hi everyone, thanks for the warm welcome and generous support. I am on day 5 and feeling great. I feel stronger with every craving I beat and was able to be around smokers tonight with no issues. I love this website and the pastport program, what a huge help. The best part of my day today was being able to tell my grandfather that I quit, it made his whole day. I hope today is better than yesterday, I really feel like I am in this for the long haul this time. Thanks a bunch. Hope all of you are having good days as well.
