The craves may come and go for a very long time, but they are not constant, and you will find a way to get past them.
Don't let the thought of being tempted way down the road throw you off now.
I know from having relapsed after 2-1/2 years smoke-free, that you always have to be on your guard, and be vigilant - but it's at a subconcious level - it won't occupy your every waking thought.
I am so glad I quit again. It took a while to get to this point knowing that it HAD to be that last time. It gets easier every day.
Stick with it.

Hey Mummy22 - the cruise ship that you've been invited to is on the "Avoiding Relapsing and Slipping" page.
You get to relax and enjoy the cruise from 50-99 days, at which time we land on the Beach!
Can't wait. See you there.

I last saw Mummy on the Stats Parade.
I think I'll just run back there to see if she's ready to board!

Ummmm, here in Canada, cigarettes were around $ 9.00 per pack, last time I looked, which was about 52 days ago. And the conversion from the U.S. dollar to CDN is very low right now.
A few years ago, the Ontario government reduced cigarette tax by about 1/2 - to discourage the smuggling that was prevalent at the time. Since then, the prices have slowly crept back up.
What a great incentive. That's why my $ saved is already so high.

Hey Mummy22 - congratulations - I quit on the same day as you, so between us, we are already at 100 days!
I hope the next 50 days go by quicker than the first 50 did!

Joyful - I could have written the exact same post as you, except I relented after not smoking for 2-1/2 years. Shortly after I started again, I made a very feeble attempt to quit, which didn't work, of course. It took me almost a year to really, really decide to stop again. It was harder this time, because I knew it HAD to be forever.
I have learned that you can NEVER let your guard down, you must remain vigilent at all times - there is no such thing as "home-free" with this nonsense.
You do know that you can do it, because you succeeded before.
When you're ready, you will know it. And do it.
Please take care,
sushik

Thank you all for the good wishes!
My reward for hitting 50 days . . . since it's a rainy day . . . . housecleaning!!!!! Actually, I have already MORE than spent the money I've saved so far . . a new gas BBQ, new running shoes, some new clothes (to cover the weight gain lol).
The last time I quit (sigh - I lasted over 900 days :((( I wasn't aware of this site - I bet it might have prevented me from relapsing after 2-1/2 years smoke free!!!!
Thank-you again. It feels so good to know that people are rooting for you from everywhere!!!!! I'm off to check out the cruise ship now . . . . .
