The Magic Ship Continues!

Good morning everyone. Julie, congratulations on the exercise! I was at the doctor's last night (for a Chantix refill, along with a new Rx for Wellbutrin) and I should be exercising with you. Notice I said "should". A couple more weeks and about 30 degrees warmer and that word will change to "will". Now that I can actually walk and climb stairs (yes Capt, and talk while climbing) without huffing and puffing, I think walking will be my first exercise of choice. Sweetheart wants to ride bikes, but I am known to be accident prone. (I am no longer allowed on sleds, slip'n'slides, or to jump on the furniture with the kids. And he wants to put me on a bike????) Walking is MUCH safer to start. Rainie, good luck this weekend with Bike week. I hear those weeks are crazy! If you happen to meet Loli and hubby from Levittown PA, say hello for me. They go each year. I'll be with you in spirit...I'll be on your shoulder reminding you of your non-smoking days (and taking your picture in your tight leather cootchy mama outfit. You go, girl) Are you taking your laptop to keep us informed of your antics? I agree we need some shakin' up on this ship! Are we all so spoiled that we can't get out of our deck chairs, what with the great ports of call, wonderful sunshine, great people, cold drinks of all kinds, chocolate and great pastries, and the food is out of this world? I think when everyone gets back to the ship from wherever --work, family matters, bike weeks, etc. -- we should throw some kind of GREAT party. Did I hear that Phil is going to audition for us? YEEEEEEE HAAWWWW! I made it through heck week... down to two craves per day (3pm and 8pm most days) Dealing with it. Maybe the wellbutrin will help too. Will leave you with a song for Nurse29 and Hubby who want so badly to give me another grandchild..... "My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky, My baby does the hanky panky LOL You get the idea. Thank you Tommy James and the Shondells! Have a great Wednesday all! Pat, hope you are soon back with us! Miss you lots! My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/14/20

I'm on my way...

Hey Diamond! You have found the best support group on the 'net. After all you have already accomplished, you can do this. Are you using NRT? When you get a crave (and, unfortunately, you will) just logon, read a bit, and post so we can see how you are doing. Best to you! BOOM!!!

Well, I don't quite know what to say. You could try putting your radio on real soft and humming loudly along. Sing if you dare! "oh, excuse me, was I bothering you?" Dont get mad, don't get even.....GET AHEAD! But ya can't shoot 'em. Good luck, and great stats! Overreacting? Dramatizing?

Jan, What perfect timing, I needed this post! I was a B**** yesterday, but I knew I was overreacting to the smallest thing and I asked people to understand and to forgive. Everyone did, except Sweetheart, who got MAD at me for having a crappy day. But even when I was smoking I wasn't allowed to have a bad day in his world. I have to be happy and charming all the time? I think not! Last night I ignored him and went to sleep (although very early). All is better now. I don't know if quitters experience this more often than the general public or not. Everyone has bad days...do quitters just have a convenient excuse? There were other contributing factors in my world this week (although PMS isn't one of them) that exacerbated my mood, is it fair to chalk it up to "I quit smoking"? Maybe we should call this the "VENT" thread? Thanks Jan! Great job on 47 days! Cheers back at ya! 1st smoke free day

You certainly have the motivation and the right attitude to suceed in your quit. Have you talked to your doctor about NRT? It may help you through the first (and worst) part of the quit. There are many products around, some with and without nicotine. All have been used by someone on this site. Read and post often, everyone here will help you through this!
