Butterfly,
(1) I'm struggling through day #4. Hell week really is Hell. I can't even imagine having as many days as you do now. Do you really want to join me in Hell week?
(2) Imagine your kitchen table. Now clear everything off it. Now dump 4,015 cigs onto it. Would they even fit on your table? Would they even fit in your bath tub? That's how many cigs you've saved yourself from by quitting!!!

Minnie,
I would recommend staying on the Wellbutrin for a while.
When you want to stop the Wellbutrin, definitely work with your doctor on this - you'll need to do a careful taper off it!

My junkie thinking is really messing with me.
I smoked for over 15 years and had a 1.5 packs/day habit.
This is really my first time quitting.
This week truly has been Hell Week for me. Every single minute of every single day is a struggle without relief. I never want to go through this again. But --
The big addict thought that's plaguing me now...."Everyone relapses, a lot of the postings I've read in SSC refer to multiple efforts to quit....so, it's okay if I have my first relapse". I know this is messed up and the nicodemon talking, but I'm really struggling with this!
Any advice? :quest:Text

Each evening I seem to have a type of "inspiring" thought. 2 nights ago it was: Stop ruminating about the suffering of quitting & put some focus on the positive. My mind space had been consumed with withdrawal & craving & torture thoughts.
Last night, I had this thought: Quitting is like jumping into a cold swimming pool - It's horrible at first and you instinctually just want to get out. But, if you stick it out, pretty soon your body adjusts to the temperature and it doesn't feel cold anymore. And then you realize what a wonderful & healthy experience it is to swim.

Sunflower,
Your friend sounds envious; and this envy is coming out in her unsupportive words. I have to admit, I can understand her envy/jealousy - I feel that way about you too. I envy the 39 days ahead of me you are in your quit, and I envy the 5 days you've added to your life when I've only added 10 hours. But, rather than experiencing this as anger at you & lack of support (as your friend did); I feel impressed by you, encouraged by your success, and hopeful that I can be like you! You are inspirational to me.
I'm glad you held on to your quit and didn't give in to the ugly cigarette beast! I'm sure you never want to be back where I am on Day 5!!!
Keep up the good work.

Question....
I'm on day #5, but have only added 10 hours to my life according to my quit meter. I know, 10 more hours of night is precious. I'm just wondering how long it takes to get a day???!!!! I'm feeling shakey right now and am grasping at any positive reinforcement possible (e.g. I keep checking my quit meter!).
