Hi Vic and Sheba55,
Becoming a non-smoker is one the best decisions you can make. I feel like I am no longer attached to a smelly, deadly ball & chain. I love to take deep breaths, bringing fresh air into my lungs-no more coughing and wheezing. Remember N.O.P.E.(Not One Puff Ever) I don't know who coined that term but it is a motto for alot of us non-smokers because for us we are always one puff away from becoming addicted again. :eg:Welcome aboard,btw-today is my first month anniversay-Yeah!!! :)

Welcome Closet,
One of the terms I learned from this site is N.O.P.E.-Not One Puff Ever- that's me. I know if I would take just one drag of a cigarette I would be back to smoking. Tomorrow it will be one month since I became a non-smoker...and it really blows my mind. I smoked for more than 35years. This site has the best information and most wonderful support. Work the program at the left and read the posts.I love smelling clean fresh air-my car and my house actually smell fresh. So many positives. To me it sounds like you have trouble staying quit. If you keep repeating N.O.P.E. and realize that you cannot have even one drag of a cigarette, maybe you can break free from the evil nicotine monster :eg:. I hope you decide that this time you will stay quit and join us non-smokers.
Trudy

I just have to put my 2 cents worth in. I too am making a big pig of myself. I did very well yesterday until it was late and my husband still wasn't home from work(Again) and I had dinner alone in front of the tv(Again) so....after dinner I made myself a big bowl of popcorn with a whole stick of melted butter on it-ate the whole damn thing, then since that apparently wasn't enough I finished off the bag of Hershey's milk chocolate chips. I've joined sparkpeople and picked up a couple of books about the GI Index(thank you Riverdale), now if only I would get serious and follow some of the good advise I'm learning :confuse:.....
