Hi Megama, I think you're going to make Friday the 13th a VERY lucky day! You may have lost the battle, but you will win the war. It's only those who quit trying who lose. Not cravin', never cavin'. DUFFISM ESPECIALLY FOR L...

Bob, I love this post. Far too often, we can let those simple moments of awe pass us by. Since Sunday Ive been sick with the flu along with a sinus infection and ear infection. All together, not an especially good week. Tonight was the first time since then that Ive hugged my daughter didnt want to give her the bug. She turned 17 this week, and she hugs me every morning and every evening, and has done so all her life. A simple moment one of the best parts of my day. Now, even better, because I dont smell like smoke. Not cravin', never cavin'. Hi Kizzer, We all love our quit meters and have even had discussions about needing to have a quit meter to wear on our wrist. Click here for an old post you might also find interesting. Congrats on your 57 days! Gee, I wonder where Kiwikeith is? Never see him or Carpepax or Catdaddy on site anymore. (Just ramblin folks. I spent quite some time going down memory lane searching for the post. Shevie, I thought it was your post, and enjoyed going back through your writings. Some great stuff there.) Not cravin', never cavin'. Staying quit but missing the camaraderie...

Hi Mc, Funny, I just replied to a post and said almost the same thing. During my early quit there were several members that I bantered back and forth with. Shevie, who is still here (thank goodness), and also Catdaddy, Carpepax, and Kiwikeith who I never see anymore. Cyber groups are odd in that once someone is no longer on site, you have no idea what's happening with them. Im lucky that some other good friends who helped me tremendously are still here often. 3galeh, Rusty, Duffis, Lolly, Ladybugg, Luna, NotPatchesAnyMore, Walkingeagle and Attaboygirl have always been here while Ive been quit. Some like Major Dude, Penitent, and Joyfulspirit arent around as much now, but still take time to come in and lend a helping hand. You quit a few months after me. Ive noticed that if you stick around, some of your buddies will leave and than return. Christmas was like old home week for me. So many of my mentors showed up it was great. As far as your advice is concerned, its priceless. Do you remember the first few weeks? It really wasnt so much WHAT someone said, just that they were there and took the time to respond. Your humor and encouragement have helped many on this site. Dont worry about the content your presence itself is very much appreciated. Not cravin', never cavin'. 100 day cravings/1 year cravings! U gotta be kidding!!!!!

Joe, you can be master of the macho. Queen of quitters sounds kind of uppity, so can I be a common sense quitter with humor? :p QuitOrDie, Listen to Penitent: By way of reassurance, 20 months quit today and not a craving in sight!! They have LONG GONE!! Hes the one here with knowledge of the long run. As for me, I think its the attitude you take to your quit. Moan and groan because you cant have a cigarette, and youll still be moanin and groanin months later. Be ecstatic because you dont have to ever have a cigarette again, and youll still be ecstatic months later. Will you ever think about smoking again? Sure. Do you give a flip? Nope. Need to learn some new coping mechanisms? Sure. Can you do it? Well, you quit smokin didnt you? Youre doing great. Itll get better I promise! Not cravin', never cavin'. Some quotes on persistence and failure

Hi Shevie, Great quotes. Ive always loved the one by Winston Churchill. Success comes before work only in the dictionary. Vince Lombardi My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/5/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 260 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,410 Amount Saved: $1690 Life Gained: Days: 33 Hrs: 18 Mins: 5 Seconds: 44
