Quitting tomorrow

Thanks Pappy. Im well aware that lm not out of the woods yet. The wrong set of circumstances could bring me undone and l dont feel safe to travel yet.  Im not sure if there is anything more l can consciously do or if its just a matter of healing with time. Im happy for you too!! Its a great feeling to be freeing yourself of something that controlled you for so long.

Quitting tomorrow

Thankyou so much Tim and Stella.....yes lm feeling more confidence as l think about smoking less and less and l was sooo happy the other morning when it really hit me that lm doing what l recently thought was impossible. However my mood in general is a bit low. Sometimes l feel a sadness, a longing for, like lm still missing something important. I feel a little depressed about it. My day is just not the same without smoking. I miss having an answer for all my problems and boredom. I miss the soothing feeling it gave me and how there was always something to look forward to shortly. Smoking was like a reward to look forward to afetre everything l did....nothing else makes me feel that way.
The good news is lm not thinking about smoking as much....l just feel the loss of something vital to my day. I dont know if l'll ever truly get over smoking.
I know this is a far cry from my bout of ecstacy but its the emotional roller-coaster of my quit.

June quitter

Ohhhh Stella....you sound so free. I really envy your position. The ugliness is all behind you and how wonderful for you to be heading into Spring (the best season imo). You sound so elated and you should be.  You have freed yourself of the slavery of ALL addiction....thats such an awesome thing to do. Many people never get there. Truly with your writing ability you should write a book about conquering your demons or write your story online. I love reading stories about conquering addictions and conquer you did. Enjoy your first Spring as a non-smoker.
A hypothetical question....coming as far as you have is there anything under the sun that you think could make you smoke again?

Anyone want a buddy?

Hi there. Im so glad you decided not to go buy a pack. I tormentad myself so much with giving in to cravings then having to start all over again. I was so unhappy smoking so l knew l had to do it eventually so giving in like l did just wasnt worth it. Youre definitely in the hardest days so hang in there....it will get easier. What day are you on? Are you using nicotine replacement? I can so relate to the eating. Ive wound down a bit now but intense mints are still helpful as the strong mint hit takes my mind off smoking. Im also using the nicotine spray to help with cravings.  Great to hear youre still ploughing through. Keep it up one day at a time

June quitter

Thats so reassuring to hear. I hope l can get there. Yes there is a grief associated with quitting addictions and it can last for some time. Back into your old jeans? Whoo-hoo!!! ALLL your quitting side-effects are gone. Thats so fantastic and your good health could well be thanks to kicking smoking. So well done Stella.
