Ten Years of Anxiety.....Ready To Move Forward

Hello everyone, my name is Lesia. I have suffered from anxiety, and panic for almost ten years now. I hope this program can give me the relief  I am longing for. I went from one major panic attack to being afraid to leave my home, afraid to be alone, afraid to drive, well pretty much just afraid of everything.

I am in hopes that this program can help me to GET MY LIFE BACK!! I am so excited to have started, and looking forward to doing my homework this week......I can't wait to get to know more of you on the forums, and share our success stories together.

Ten Years of Anxiety.....Ready To Move Forward

Hello Red, and Ashley! Thanks for the nice welcome, I am excited to be here with you. I have been working on the homework section, and really can't wait to move forward.

My son was recently diagnosed with anxiety, and for his sake and mine I have to find a way to show him it does not end your life. I am afraid of everything from leaving my home to taking any meds. Therefore I take nothing for my anxiety, because I have a fear of taking any meds.

I have tried reading books, and between the anxiety and not being able to leave my home I even invented a product that is now on the market. I have had to make two trips to Chicago to the Housewares Show to see it debut, and I made it with my husbands support. Not sure what I would do without people like you, and my wonderful supportive husband.

Thanks for being here, and allowing me to share my experiences with you all.

Feeling totally hopeless and nowhere to turn...

Hi Seatle,

I have suffered from severe anxiety/agoraphobia now for almost ten years. I am also in no way a professional, but I will share something with you, and I would recommend talking to a Dr about this.

I do suffer from anxiety, but like you I was having these crazy things go on with my heart, it was scaring me so bad I was afraid to go to sleep. Finally I seen my OB GYN, and because I had a hysterectomy when I was in my 20's I had been on HRT (hormone replacement therapy) for years. They took me off the Depo Estradiol, and put me on Bio Identical hormones, and within hours it was gone. No more heart palpitations, none and the only time I feel them now is when I forget my hormone pill. I was amazed, truly amazed because I truly thought at any moment I was going to have a heart attack, and was very upset with my regular Dr that he could not see this.

For a couple of weeks I was so excited the palpitations were gone that my anxiety got better, but unfortunately something happened that triggered an attack, and right back to square one I went.

Good luck, and maybe that is something you could check on with your Dr. My heart truly goes out to you, because that is a scary feeling. Seems like there is a great group of people here for support. I have only been on here a few days, and so far extremely impressed with everyone, and this program!!

New and my story

Hello Ravenrain,

I too just got started with the program. Driving is one of the most difficult things for me along with taking medications. Just freaks me out, and brings on panic and anxiety.

I am here for the same reasons, and hope that in time we can both take that ride in that little red car with a big smile, and no fear.

Ten Years of Anxiety.....Ready To Move Forward

Also Red I wanted to ask you a question. When you take a medicine for whatever reason, do you always have a major panic attack? Recently I had a uti, and was put on antibiotic, and even that just freaked me out!! I was so afraid until I had been on them a few days, but could not take them without my husband right there, and still I had the worst ever anxiety.

I have the worst fear of medicine, well actually a lot of things. I feel really bad because my Dr will prescribe me meds, and I try to take them, but just can't :( and I so want to feel better, but just can't!!

Ten Years of Anxiety.....Ready To Move Forward

Thanks so much Red......It does help to know I am not alone on this journey. I am home alone for a couple hours this morning, and started feeling it coming on so I hopped on here to do my homework, and see if any of you were around....You guys are such a life saver right now!!

Thanks so much for being here, and I am working my way through the program......I just keep telling myself this morning that better days are coming!!! I just hate this feeling I have right now :( being alone for a little bit I should be able to enjoy and not spend it scared of what will happen!!

Home Alone.....Ugggg!!

My husband had to leave me alone for a couple hours today, and I just keep feeling it coming!! That shortness of breath, heavy chest, light headed, and I just hate this. I have no idea why I am afraid, everything is going just fine, so I guess I will just work on my thinking!!

If anyone has any advice, I am willing to take it.......I just want to make it through this morning without a major panic attack, hopefully being here with you guys will prevent that from happening!!

Home Alone.....Ugggg!!

Thanks Josie,

Yes I am trying to work on it. I think I will read a little in the forums too, it helps just knowing you guys are here!! I am so grateful I found this site......and I will continue to work on my homework too!! I posted how I was feeling already, and I am trying to keep my mind occupied, unfortunately my mind gets away from me at times. When I try to shut it off I seem to only make things worse on myself though.

It helps to come here to the forums and post how I feel and knowing that the people reading it totally understands what I am feeling, so thanks so much!!!!
