Won't quit trying

You guys are the best.
I had a good sleep last night , the first time in a long time and it felt so good. Of course the anxiety has decreased but I figure if when I am calm I do the program more will sink in. I think my real problem is I "overthink" everything and I have to try and stop this vicious circle.
To be honest I find greater comfort here at the paniccentre than at my group...maybe it's just too new there yet, time will tell.

You are so right , Davit, when you said it all starts with acceptance and I am still struggling with that....always concerned what others may think. My husband always says " to damn what other think, this illness is no worse than cancer, it wasn't your fault "
and he is right.

Oh ! right, I forgot to tell you guys....at group today they passed out a hand out and on it were  various characteristics of people who experience anxiety... one of which is people who have relatively high intelligence and who are very creative.
Well, I guess we all fall into that group! That's what I told my husband when I got home " Oh well, the one advantage is that I know I'm intelligent and creative!" LOL
There you go a bright side to my story!

Thanks again, I can always count on you guys and I do keep you all in my prayers.

for no reason...

Welcome to the site. I too am fairly new and am slowly trying all the info. here and at my group. I'm so sorry you are going through this, I know I'm going through it too. Have you considered talking to a mental health social worker or to your doctor?
It sure helps.

The people here are a true god send....very understanding and supportive.  Try it out and let us know

Thanks Anerol for your support and kind words.

Davit,
Yes you are right, intelligent and creative people are sometimes also very sensitive to their environment which also can be a problem if they don't learn to shut things out or make a triage of what is important and what is not.

Oh by the way, I finally found an organic store in town that will order the Lemon Balm Tea, I really want to try it once I have finished this course of sleep meds. Do you know if the tea interacts with any meds? Or where I could get that info?

Almost there....:)

Gosh, how nice to hear you have come so far. It gives me hope that someday I will be able to say the same.
Thanks

Thank-you for the info. I will check on drugs.com. I know another site mentionned that people on thyroid medication were not advised to take it. I will also check with my doctor and the pharmacist.
Right now I drink quite alot of herbal teas, chamomile, peppermint, berry zingers etc. and I surely would not abuse the lemon balm. Thanks again, hope you had a nice day!!

Nothing like a good nights sleep

It's amazing what a good sleep can do for a person...granted I needed some meds to get there this time but hopefully at one point I will get there on my own.
Today is a beautiful sunny day with a light breeze, so I took advantage of it and worked up the flower beds that weren't too muddy. Everything is coming up already...a few of my tulips are blooming, my peonies are up about 6inces and the irises are poking through. While I was clawing the front flower bed a little robin was patiently waiting till I was done so he could gorge himself on a few big, fat earthworms. Yummmm!

Thank goodness the nice weather is here a last....there will be plenty to keep me busy before long.

Hope all of you are well and having a great day!

Disputes IV

Hi Sunny,
How old is your brother? Could he be suffering from alzheimers or another health condition?
Not saying that is the problem but alzheimers can start at any time or other health conditions can affect memory as well. When my father  started he would do the same thing....he couldn't remember what he had said so then turned it around that we had misunderstood. Sometimes he would take bits and pieces of a conversation and make a story that he truly believed was true. If you are really concerned maybe speak with other family members to see if they have noticed a change or is this just his normal  behavior.

It must be very frustrating for you but don't doubt yourself and if it was me I would just let it go...it will save your sanity and avoid a pointless argument. Some fights just aren't worth fighting.

Disputes IV

Hi Sunny,
So sorry that you couldn't get the rest you needed and have to face this very tired. Your brother sound like someone who has to  always have a bigger story, a better plan etc. , gives me the impression he has very low self esteem and my be a type of bully. Like a peacock who has to puff his feathers to bluff his opponent.
You can't win in this type of situation and it's not worth it....just accept it and let it go for your sake. I don't mean to belittle your brother but it may be that he feels important doing this. Old habits die hard, I'm afraid...and as I said it could be a health issue or medication issue.
In any event you take care of you , my dear friend and vent here....it will release alot of unwanted pressure.
