I'm new to the site. I think this is a great site. I started having panic attacks in the morning before work (6am). I'm taking medication but I find it still difficult to function in the morning (i.e. difficult breathing and heaviness in chest). Any suggestings would be appreciated.
Thanks for the info. I'm been on the medication for about 3 weeks. I going to the doctor today to re-adjust the medication. Also I have an appointment with a Phycharist in early Dec./08.
I had a little set back yesterday when my oldest son told me he was being bullied at school. I'll be meeting with principal today to deal with the situation. My main problem is I worry a lot about my children and especially my oldest son who has mild learning disability. Is there ways to conquer these types of worries?
The bullying issue with my son has been resolved. I talked with the principal and everything is ok. I started to see the Phyciatrist about three weeks ago. Yesterday the Dr. recommended me to stop taking Lorizapam (which I know is addictive). Today been difficult to get rid of the anxious feelings (moderate). I tried the PMR and box breathing exercise to help me to relax It has help but it keeps coming back (anxious feeling). Any suggestions?
Have you tried taking the medication in the morning instead of night? Also have you be doing the progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) and box breathing technique to reduce the muscle tension.
I'm currently using Cipralex for my panic disorder about two weeks ago. I just started the 10 mg about 5 days. I do occasionally have chest heaviness from my anxiety but I always do the PMR and box breathing technique to help reduce the tension.
Hope this helps.
