Intrusive / obsessive thoughts.. OCD like??

I don't think I have OCD, yet I do definitely have obsessive thoughts that really freak me out. I imagine the worst things happening.

dizzy spell...help

After I got off my medications, I have been having dizzy spells all the time. I sometimes think I want to be back on my medication (Lexapro). It did me well. But I am turning 24 next week... and I didn't want to be on medications for the rest of my life. So I am trying to be off it until I'm 30. My anxiety is not that great right now and my doctor gave me Xanax just to hold on to until I really can't control my anxiety. Anyways, supposively I am getting the dizzy spells because I have ear congestion.. I'm probably allergic to something. Do you have allergies? I feel like I am constantly falling back slowly and I have pressure on the sides of my head. Sometimes it doesn't bother me and I can just forget about it.. but when it's really there and I notice it, I panic.

Lifestyle

Hey everyone. For the past few days I have been doing really good, being anxiety free, after weeks of depression, and today I had a bad panic attack. I have been able to live my everyday fully the past few days and accomplished going on a little trip with my husband to where I used to live, 2 hours away, to see my good friends, yesterday. But today, I was still feeling good until my dizzy spells started to kick in, noticably, after eating and I became really nauseous. I was afraid I may loose my balance and fall over. On our way home driving, I couldn't stand the speed on the freeway so I had to ask my husband to take the streets. I was feeling really afraid that this time, I may actually die from something. I was really afraid for a few hours and I have calmed down a lot now and feel better. I know there is no answer to this, but why does it have to happen when things seem to be getting better? It just gets me sad that I'm back in the "hole" again. I am trying to think positively though... and I was wondering what kinds of lifestyle every one is leading. Does everyone exercise and eat healthy regularly? Work hectic jobs? I am only 24, I'm married, no kids, no job, no school yet... and I work out once in a while.

Hey guys, thanks for the support again. Cornish-dee, good luck on your exam for the abdomen. Let us know how that goes. It's really nice to hear stories from people like myself, I mean, I wish we all didn't have to go through this but the fact is that we do and I thank you for putting in your experiences for me. Today I am doing much better. Sighh...

Exposure Planning Session 4

Hello everyone. I'm on session 4 for exposure planning. Has anyone got there yet? It also says in this session and I think it would be a good idea to update my progress with this exposure planning on this forum so that everyone can see with me how well I can progress with this exposure thing. One of the goals I've planned to work on is: Driving to school by myself. School is about 8 miles/ 20 mins from home. I will start on Monday and update how far I can get by practicing everyday for about an hour of driving.. and let's see how far I can go.

Hi Dazed Mommy, I always love your input. Thanks. I totally know what you mean about going back to old habits. Especially, I find myself away from this program when it's my better days. Lately, since I've been getting nauseous after I eat, eating scares me sometimes. I get more afraid when I don't know what is in the meals, like all the chemicals, etc. I love chocolate chip cookies and I feel this urge before I eat it and while I eat it, I'm most satisfied, but after I'm done, I feel nasty. I haven't been doing my exercises this month and is planning to start again from Monday.

Exposure Planning Session 4

Wow, Birdie, thanks for the encouraging accomplishment news. And thanks cornish-dee. Today, I felt a little anxious in the morning because I was having some discomfort in my chest again. But I went for a walk, which is another one of my goals to do. I wasn't able to go around the whole block but I did go around the area where my house was still visable. I also went around the block of my house, driving, and even where there are traffic lights. (I am usually ok with this, but I figure practice is always good anyway. Baby steps.)

Working up to something

Hey Claire, I just posted up a discussion about my exposure planning too. Have you seen the exposure plan example for driving in session 4? I think following those steps small amounts at a time should help. Are you having difficulty swallowing meds or just taking them in general?

Struggling

Hi Cornish-dee, I'm sorry to hear that you had such a rough night but I really admire how you are still positive after all those set backs. It is such a horrible feeling, being in pain and discomfort but I really look up to you to have come this far with it. Soon, you will get answers from that appointment, right? Good luck!

Panic/anxiety caused by thoughts, situations

I recently posted something like this where I thought I was getting better yet, bam it's here again. My sister, who has anxiety yet is able to live her life, advised me that to think anxiety as a common cold. This is difficult for me to do sometimes, but she says that is how she copes with it. When there are days for her that are anxious, she accepts it as a day of anxiety, just like you would be sick from a cold. She always also tells me to listen to my heart, if I have a little doubt, never push it because there is always another day when you are ready. Anyways, thanks for sharing and it's great accomplishment that you've overcame it before already.
