medication

I read a book called "Overdose" and it talks about how prescription drugs are mis-prescribed by doctors all the time. It's not that the meds are bad but everyone is different and it gets bad when everyone gets prescribed by a general dosage. Everything matters from your sex, age, weight, and all the other meds you are taking. I think Brenna's advices are good and now, I research all I can before I take any type of chemical in my body. I was on Lexapro for 2 years and this year I weaned off it but the weaning was not enough and the meds gave me horrible horrible withdrawal symptoms(Brain zaps/electric shock type sensations). A lot of doctors don't inform anyone about this because they just don't know.

Am I just being too tough on myself?

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking the meds either just to help you get through with your daily activities and you were able to ween it off before, I'm sure you will be able to ween off it once more. They don't seem like too much of a dosage either. Good luck with your presentation... I am thinking of going back to school too... hoping it will help me find some purpose. What are you studying?

Obsessively Afraid

Hey guys, I'm back again to this fear. I don't know how to deal with it. I started to research about death and fear of death but I can't seem to find any closure to this fear. It is also a irrational fear that there seems to be no way of over coming it. I just end up crying to my mom again and I hate that because I am not considering her feelings about it too. In a change, I've discussed it with my husband yesterday and he said I have to focus on now and being happy now. I told him I try to do it and I know what makes me happy but instantly a voice in my head will say, "but this happiness will all disappear when we die." I feel like I'm definite of what death will "feel" like.. an unimaginable thing and that is what drives me insane. Once in a while I can convince myself, that maybe it's not that bad.. but instantly again, I will ask myself how could it not be bad? I know right now I have so much time on myself that I am obsessively thinking of this and I feel stuck. How do people with no belief deal with this, like myself?

Med reduction

Hey Michael... I weened off my meds of Lexapro(SSRI) at the beginning of February and I started getting these zap like shiver like falling sensations.. is it something like that? It was really hard to describe but it kinda feels like a shiver and it usually happened just by moving my eyes. If this sounds similar to what you are feeling, then yes, I don't have them anymore. At the time I had them they really freaked me out and I got a CT scan and EKG and everything and I was ok. I've read a lot about how people who get off of anti-depressants get these sensations. Good job in getting off of useless chemicals. It also helped me by researching about the meds also.

symptoms????

When I started having panic attacks 2 years ago my symptoms were... - Tingling feelings in my face, especially nose. - Tingling in my hands. One time my hands froze up completely I couldn't move them at all ! That was pretty scary. - Restless, tense in shoulders - A lot! Of burping... never stops. - Nausea, nausea, nausea. - Feeling of unreal... I get confused at what I am doing. - Fear of fainting. - Cold feet and hands. My recent panic attack symptoms are... - Restless, tense in shoulders - As always, A LOT of burping. - Nausea. - Feeling of unreal - My whole chest area, burning yet cold feeling. - Dizzy.. like I'm slowly falling back. - My ears burn up too. - Cold feet and hands.

Obsessively Afraid

Hello guys, Thanks again for a lot of the input. I have been more relaxed about the topic and have been able to realize and appreciate the present. I am cherishing every moment of it and it is nice. I still do scare myself once in a while when I end up having time to think about death but I am able to remind myself that I have a lot to accomplish before I go and that is my motivation and maybe I will be ok with death when it is time. Thanks so much for the support... I come back here to re read them and get reassured. Minnesota! My birthday is the day before yours.. and my sister's is the same as yours! I hope we both have a great birthday this year.
