50 Days

50 days went by quite fast. The first 24 days is what will keep me from ever smoking again.
I do not ever want to feel like that again.I will be glad when Zombie month is done. I don't feel like a Zombie anymore
and I am ready to keep moving forward one day at a time.

It?s about time!

Hi Zimme1sm . Good luck with your quit.
I quit cold turkey as well after 40 years of smoking. The first few days were tough
but it really does gets better.I just wanted to be done with the withdrawls as soon as possible
so I chose not to use any aids.
For you to quit now when you are so young you will definatly have a better quality of life.
I wish I had been stronger when I was younger but better late than never.
Keep busy and positive.
You can do this.

50 Days

I have learned I am stronger than I thought I was Mentally and Physically and that in is self feels Great.
I always thought I was quite healthy and strong for my age but since I have quit I can already feel a difference
in my well being.
I am aware again that some things smell Very good and some things smell Very bad.
I have learned I really do not need all the salt I have been using some things taste great without it.
I have learned the front porch is a wonderful place to breath freah air and read my book.
I have also learned there are very many Wonderfully supportive people out there willing to help us through our quits.
Thanks
N.O.P.E.

Any experiences with dry mouth?

Hi Zimme
I have also had a dry mouth sore throat etc.I have been told it is the healing process. My quit is over 60 days now and I still get a sore throat now and then
and a heartburn feeling at the back of my throat..
They say when you smoke your body creates more phlegm to protect your throat. When you quit it doesn't need to causing a dry throat.
I don't remember my tongue being dry but I do remember it feeling strange as my taste buds were coming back to life.
I also burnt it a couple times as it seemed more sensitive.
I have had blood work done and I am going to visit my doctor just to ask a few questions and see what differences not smoking has made
for me.
Good luck with your quit.

My Mouth

I have noticed so many changes in my body with my quit.
I love the overall look and feel of my mouth now.
My teeth have whitened considerably.
My gums and tongue are back to a healthy pink and feel wonderful.
It is such a good feeling not to  have to feel bad about nasty smokers breath.
Life is good and getting better with each day not smoked.
Looking forward to more great changes.
By the way , Does anyboby know how many days are in Zombie month ??

Sharing your Motivation

My motivation is the people I have Loved and Lost and how there passing has affected so many.
They were the Foundations of Family and Friends and when that is lost so to is the Strength and Bonding
of those left behind and my heart broke to see it unfold.
I am in the position of being the Foundation of my Family and many Dear Friends.
I do not want any of them or any one to witness or feel as helpless as I did when
someone is taken from you way behond their years.
My Family is now 5 generations strong. I am in the middle and I embrace every generation and so look forward to my Great Great Grandchildren.
My Strength in my quit is to grow old enjoying every possible minute with no regrets knowing I have lived
a fullfilling life to it fullest.
