History: Young people approached me asking for a smoke. I told them no because smoking kills.
So one of them asked me why I was smoking and I told him to quit now because it gets harder as we get older and I'm half gone anyway. They didn't bother me anymore probably thinking I was a nutter. They were probably right in thinking that.
Indeed! I was laying on the couch reading the book when out of the blue the couch seemed to be pushed back and forth against the wall. I stopped reading and waited. It stopped just as suddenly as it had started. Londoners were jolted at 1:51 PM by an earthquake centered in Virginia that registered a 5.9 on the Richter scale. "We felt the one last year and just kind of felt dizzy. This year, we felt it - we were rocking in our chairs and our floor lamps were rocking. It felt much stronger than the last one."
Has anybody mentioned loosing your cool? I did it today. The water was turned off without warning. The cleaning lady turned the tap on in the apartment over me and finding no water left the apartment. I was on my way out for a walk when I heard water rushing from upstairs. I rushed up and turned the tap off and tried to mop up the water. The manager had decided to get lost today. I yelled for the cleaning lady to fetch the shopvac. She did nothing. I screamed my head off and said some not nice things to her for all the neighbour to hear. They were shocked! This is not like me at all. It's been a hectic week.
Not smoking. I went uptown yesterday. The scene there was like something out of a science fiction movie.
Everybody on the street had a cigarette in their mouth or in their hands. Turning a corner at a construction site four workers jumped out of the building. It seemed to me to be four devils all pointing their cigarettes at me.
