Day 2! About to Cave! Help!

If you're mad enough at him, tell yourself, "Screw you, buddy. I'm not giving in, you'd love that wouldn't ya? I'm staying quit just to SPITE you. Oh you're in a very cheerful few weeks, my friend..." Hehehe. Sometimes spite can be a strong motivator.

But don't give in. You go back to smoking so easily. It's not just one moment of relief, it's a pack a day forever again. Instantly.

A few questions for people who used the patch...

How long did you stay on each level of the patch?

How severe was the transition from one level to the next?

How severe was the transition to no patches at all?

Thank you!

I just started the patch today and I'm loving it. It feels even better than smoking - which makes me a little nervous, hahaha. So I'm curious what your experience was with patches.

How?s she goin? b?ys?

I ended up at an impromptu get-together - beers, a backyard fire, me and three smokers. And I DID IT! :) It was my strongest craving of the day, but I didn't give in.

A few questions for people who used the patch...

Thank you both! :)

I'm finding it so easy on the patch that I'm a little worried... it just can't be this easy.

But... I do feel different this time. I'm taking it more seriously. And I can honestly say: I've had enough.

I just keep telling myself - I am an ex-smoker. Quitting may be a process, but being an ex-smoker is the present, right now. It's not something I have to do, I've already done it. I just have to keep going.

So... now I'm not going to worry about transitioning between patches and off patches. It can't be worse than smoking,

How?s she goin? b?ys?

Oh I did fail on my previous attempt, SerenityNow. Everyone was right. I'm just back after an absence (during which I went back to smoking a pack a day) of several months.

But, it's Day 6 right now and I'm still going strong! Woohoo!

Monday Morning Stats Parade

It's not Monday - but I'm starting Day 6 and I've been completely smoke free.

I'm using the patch and gum, so I haven't had to deal with severe nicotine withdrawals yet - but I can get to that in a few months. For now I'm focusing on the psychological/behavioural addition.

Let?s get a daily pledge going!

Today is Day 7 - a full week! :) And, this time, without even a single puff; without even really wanting one.

I'VE HAD ENOUGH! I WILL NOT SMOKE TODAY! ;)
