Morning check in

Hi woke up this morning and the first thing I thought of was I need to change my patch!!!!!

I didn't think about the ciggys or why I was using the patch, just that I needed to change it !!

Got a better sleep last night, this morning woke up earlier than normal but was wide awake, and felt great.

Today has been good up to now not really missing the smoking just finding that I have more time on my hands, so I am going to go and get the wallpaper tomorrow and start decoration the stairwell.

Will talk again before I go to bed to let you know how the rest of the day went.

Hope that everyone is doing well Debby

The Force of Addiction

Smoking for me wasn't filling any void in my life.  All it was doing was robbing me of my life and my time.

It didn't help me, encourage me, support me or do anything for me.

I now realise that smoking was just that smoking!!!!

Now I have more time for everyone, I am starting to enjoy things more (not thinking about when, where, or how I am going to have my next ciggy!!!!!).

Also I am more aware of what is going on around me, and noticing the little things that I would have missed because I was to preoccupied before to notice.

All smoking was really doing was making a mess and wasting my life.

Thankfully I now realise this, and that make me even more determined to do this quit.

Debby.

Rewards

I aim for my rewards, if I didn't have them I would just think that this is going to be impossible.

I am looking forward to meeting up with my sister-in-law for lunch tomorrow, mainly because normally I would have to pop outside to have a ciggy and leave her sitting in the cafe on her own.  But tomorrow I won't need to and we will have more time together.

It will be the first time that this has ever happened, I just can't wait to see her reaction. (She has never smoked, but is totally supporting me with this quit)

Oh no !!!!
I seem to be having one craving after another!!!!!

The day seemed to be going fine. only had about 2 or 3 cravings this afternoon.  But from about 6pm they just seem to be coming none stop!!!!!!

I have a splitting headache and am totally shattered. Maybe this is pay back as the quit didn't seem to be to bad up till now.

See you tomorrow hopefully feeling better and not ready to scream or cry don't know which like I am now

Day 3 is proving pretty rough

I am feeling the same at the moment day 4.

But I know from the others on here that it does get better.

So I'll just have to get through this and then it will be FREEDOM and thats the main thing to be smoke free, healthy, happy and proud.

Tomorrow is another day and hopefully for us both a better day.

Keep Strong we'll get through this together.

Thank you all

Hi all.

Thank you all for your advice yesterday. The cravings lasted for about another hour after I placed my post then slowly faded.

Had a lovely soak in the bath and the hubby make me a hot cup of chocolate and I just curled up on the settee and read my book.

Had a reasonable nights sleep. Woke up full of energy and up to now had a good day!!!

Went for lunch with my sister-in-law and felt really proud when she looked at me and said "It's strange that you haven't got up to go out side for you usual ciggy, but I am so happy for you that your doing well ".  She has never smoked but knows how hard I have tried before and failed.

This time I won't fail, because this time I really want to get my life back and to be me. Not the person who has to keep working out when, where and how I can have my next ciggy.

I feel free, for the first time that I can remember, and I never want to lose that feeling!!!!!!!

The headache seems to be easing and I feel great!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and that your are all winning this battle.

Stress Part II

Hi,

I never really thought of myself as some one who got stressed about things, I alway thought I just took life as it came.
But after reading through your article I realised that I am an Internal Stressor.

I don't really know what to do to help myself, as I never really thought that things every got the better of me, and that the lack of sleep, restlessness and so on, where just the way I am.

Since I have not been smoking and I have had more time on my hands, things don't seem to be as hectic! Not that its all plain saling now, but I don't seem to be on full speed all the time now, just most of the time.

I am going to try to have more relaxing weekend with the family, and if it really doesn't need doing then it won't be done!!!!! (before everything had to be done)

Have a good weekend everyone as I know I will try my best to.  Debby

Did you know?

Hi Karen,
I can relate to that when I was working before I had my boys I used to smoke more than when I was not working.  It wasn't that I had more time to smoke, but when you only have 15mins for a coffee/ciggy break, I managing to smoke 2 ciggys in that break and maybe only 1 or 2 mouthfulls of coffee.

When I stopped working I would still have the same amount of time for a cup of coffee 'break', but I would only smoke 1 ciggy and drink a full cup of coffee.

Maybe it was because at work I was always working to deadlines, or maybe it was because I knew it would be a few hours before I could have my next fix, were as at home I could have my next fix whenever I wanted it.

Debby
