New and looking to quit

Yep feel better after that snooze.  Got woke up by the phone...brother-in-law.  I decided to call my old quit counsler from couple years ago.  She said try half a 21mg patch (10 and 1/2mg then).  It works and I feel fine.  "whew"  She also said use gum if I need it.  Thanks for sticking by while I was freaking out.

Myth or Fact?

My husband would applaud that!  He finds smoking terrible and very unsexy.  (hmmm...I must be something then because I was a smoker when I met him)  Now I don't I'm sure he'll be happy!

A sure way to lessen the smoking population...

They might be.  I've slowly gained weight over the past couple years.  Though I'm not obese only 20lbs overweight I'm the heaviest I've ever been.  I've had really low energy and tired alot....perhaps from smoking.  I'm not as active because well I'm out of breath from 4 flights of stairs.  So I'd have to vote yes smoking can be fattening.  I noticed too that alot of the contestants on Biggest Loser were smokers.  There might be some truth in that Angie.

Don't worry about the swim suit.  They make cute ones for all sizes and you have a beautiful face.  Your sexy just cause you don't smoke.  Congrats on 23 days!

Crave Control Mantra Suggestions

I'm a great procrastinator so I tell myself
"Not now maybe later"
to a cigarette.  Later never comes so should work.  I like the others better though.  And of the course the tried and true NOPE is a good one, but it sometimes freaks me out with the "not ever" part.

First day....

Moses I don't know about all that stuff and morphine patches, but my addictions counsler who is trained by Mayo clinic said cutting the nicotine patchi is alright.  I don't know what is the right answer I'm just following her advice.

I fed the wrong wolf? Or something....

Let's just say I didn't make it so far.  I'm really very discourage here.  I've quit so many times and so many times never succeed in staying quit.  Some are long some are short some aren't even more than a couple days and I don't even know if one can call them quits (more like a vacation).

I honestly don't think I can ever beat this addiction.  There is something truely that I don't get about this whole thing.  Yes I understand the rule:  DON'T SMOKE!  NOT ONE PUFF EVER!  I just don't understand how to keep my life in tact (relationships, jobs, sanity) when I'm not smoking.

I'm gonna try again (I always do because I HATE smoking)  I just don't know if I can.

*sigh*

I fed the wrong wolf? Or something....

Yes thank you both.  I have read that book several times and I've done all the work and planning possible.  Things never go as planned though and then I get frusturated....

Your right only I can do this and it's me that has to make that commitment.

I will go over all this again.  Next time you all here from me I'll be quit.  I know I can....

!

This day is so long....I'm getting a migraine and well I just feel totally bummed.  I'm feeling a bit on the spacey side and very tired.  Sorta like....blah, blah, blah, blah....

I'm not doing so good in this fight either.  I slipped yesterday, but decided that I'm just gonna go on and put that one bad choice behind me.

I'm just sorta complaining I guess even though this is all perfectly normal, but this is the part of a quit where I usually break down and give up.  If not this bout of blues the next.  You know all those reasons to quit are hard to hang on to when I feel way worse than when I were smoking.  That little voice keeps whispering "hey you feel like crap anyway why not have a smoke and cross one less stress off of your crappy day"

Except I know it wouldn't lessen the dumps, but my addicted mind keeps telling me it will.

UGH!

Sorry just needed to vent.

!

Thank you Jo and Karren I am feeling better now.  I just spent over an hour coming a snow packed play ground in single digit temps searching for my 9 year old daughter's glasses lense.  Need to find the lense or it won't be warrentied and a new one is $50!  Kids!

She wanted to wash dishes though (been neglected a couple days) so I put together supper and she is currently washing the dishes.  I'll probably have to do some over, but it's nice that she wanted to.

Yes I REALLY WANT this!  I am tired to quitting, smoking, quitting, smoking.  I want this to be final....I want to feel better and be a better person.  The state is talking about passing a law that any person smoking in a vehicle with someone 16 or younger as a passenger will be fined.  I don't believe in laws that judge people's behavior, but it's a good idea for those that don't think of their little ones.  I've been guilty of it, but only on long trips (more than 2 hours).  That only happens a half a dozen times a year, but it doesn't make it any better.  Actually the 7 grade group that is pushing the law stated some interesting facts like the second hand smoke in a vehicle is 20 times more dangerous than in one's home.  I don't smoke in my home, but that's a scary fact.  Even a few times a year is bad in those terms.

Anyway, staying smoke-free and thanks again.
