My turn?

The last time I quit was in April 02. I stopped for a little over seven months using the patch and support from quitters on this site. I was pleased to see some of you who were here at that time are still here and never went back to smoking.Last December my doctor handed me a persciption for Chantex and told me it was time to give my wheezing lungs a break. I stopped smoking on December 17th and have a much more positive attitude about quitting than I did my last time around. Since I quit medical tests revealed possible problems should I go back to smoking. I'm taking my own advice I used to give here, "No matter what - don't smoke!" Cameless

My turn?

Thanks everyone,
I'm honored to be back here among you. Quiting smoking is by far the most difficult thing I've ever tried. It took me almost six years to get back in the saddle.   I hope sharing my experience will be helpful to some of you. Thanks again,

Major Relapse after 13 years

Wow salsadiva, 13 years seems like forever!  Don't sell yourself short, you obviously were doing something right to have quit for so long!   All my quits have been measured in months thus far. The last time I quit (with the help of quitters on this site) was six years ago. Don't do what I did!  My last quit I used the patch. This quit I used Chantix and it worked quite well  for me. Take it one day at a time and stick with the winners on this site!
No matter what - Don't smoke!

Introduction

Hi Nissala,
Yes there are lots of us here who have made lots of attempts to quit this horrible addiction. However, this is the only quit we need to concern ourselves with now. In all my previous quits  I felt like I was losing an old friend when I quit. Some friend! Those who seem to make it have developed a positive mindset and now see themselves as "non-smokers." This is what I'm striving for. I know it's worth having!
You've come to the right place!
No matter what - Don't smoke!

Hello to all the new quitters

OK all you new quitters!!! We know you're out there and want to step up to the plate and get in the game! Not only does quitting smoking make you more confident (like me). It also makes you much more attractive (like Terry). Quitting is hard by onesself but can be done with the help of this site and the good people on it.

colorado cabin / $$$$$$$$$$$$/smokes

Beckylynn,
My vote is Belize. I went there on a cruise a couple of years ago. Paradise! I'm sure it will be even nicer there as a non-smokers.

NEW TO THE ROOMS

Hi Smokeless_ Sherry,
You do sound determined and I'm sure everyone who cares about you (including everyone here) supports your quit. We are very much a power of example to our children. We've all been where you are and  none of us would still be here smokefree had we not all continuously improved. The previous two quits I used the patch and struggled (for months) to stay quit. This time I used Chantex and it worked very well for me. I smoked more than twice as long as you did. Please do not put this off like me. You still have time to reverse all the damage. Hang in there! There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel.!

I FEEL LIKE I AM A LUNATIC.........I KNOW I AM

Hang in there Sherry!
You said the main thing that's keeping me cameless when you posted, "I know my addiction is the source of all these problems." Right on!
