Two more days

Hi my name is Judy and I joined not too long ago and have been completing all the excercises in this program. I'm 51 years old and smoking for over 30 years so its kind of scarey saying good bye to an old friend but the good news is that my husband is doing it with me. My quit date is Tuesday and it seems like I'm going through all of the emotions and I haven't even quit yet. I'm taking a the pill Champix which is helping me to quit. I keep on saying to myself that I can do it this time as over the years I have tried to quit many times but the longest that I have quit is 3 months. I have tried Zyban, the gum and the patch and have had adverse reactions to all of them so I guess other than quitting cold turkey this is my last hope. I was recommended this site by a friend that said it helped her alot so since I'm going to need all the help I can get I wanted to join the program. Just thought I would say hi and introduce myself as by reading all the post the support group seems to be very strong! Two more days

Well it looks like hubby and I got our dates mixed up and he was certain it was today that we were quitting so after I came home from my walk I noticed all the ashtrays, cigarettes were gone, I'm not going to the store to get a pack of cigarettes just for today so it looks like our start date is today!! Nervous scared anxious about how the day will progress but I'm really determined to get rid of this filthy habit.. Thanks for the support everyone I'm just starting my journey! BTW Bear I don't mind blunt ..it keeps it real and I'm sure this is one of the hardest journeys I will make in my life! Coping with Day One

Yesterday was my hubbies and my first day and guess what, we are still married and didn't kill each other! lol . Thanks for the advice Rusty and another thing that I did that helped me was I got hubby to buy some hard sugar free candies and also some popsicles. I found that popsicles are great and they take some time to eat.. that feeling of cool and refresh just stay in your mouth longer. Hip Hip horray day 1 is over now onward and upward to day 2! Keep on going Susie your one day more than me and we can do it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/4/2008 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 28 Amount Saved: $4.20 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 53 Seconds: 55

Hell week almost gone

Well hell week is almost gone both hubby and I are on day 6 and lovin the new smell in the house (fresh). For some reason yesterday day 5 was the toughest on me as hubby was gone and in my mind I was wondering how to get a cigarette and smoke it so that he wouldn't find out ... weird how many ideas you can come up with when you are really really really craving but I talked myself out of it and proud to say I won not the cigarette. I'm curious as to does anyone know whether Champix Canadian and Chantix American .... are one of the same drugs? Reading the posts over the week have really helped me pulled through this so I just wanted to say "thanks" .. I've made it thru 6 days and don't ever plan on doing those days again !! What Bothers You Most?

Its already become law in a little town in the Maritimes called Bridgewater.. that you cannot smoke in a car with kids under the age of 18 yrs. So I would say that soon other towns (cities) will follow..
