Day #9 smoke free

Hi Grammyofboys,

Like Timbo said, these symptoms could be related to withdrawal. If you are concerned about your symptoms though it is always best to speak to a doctor.

I hope you feel better soon!

Hi Grammyofboys,
Congratulations on quitting smoking! Chest discomfort, light headed and slower heart rate are all quit normal in the beginning of a quit journey. A sore throat that's tender to the touch can also occur, especially if you are coughing more from your body trying to clear up your lungs. If any of these things worry you, or they do not get better in a while, don't hesitate to go see your doctor.  Better safe than sorry. I'm sure your doctor would be glad to hear that you have quit smoking.  No two quits are the same. What happens to one persons body may not happen to another person, or it might be twice as bad. Just like our finger prints are different from one another, so are our quits. It sounds like you have a great attitude about you quit too. Never give in, never surrender! Keep us updated with your progress would you?
Stay strong.

I have attempted to quit multiple times in the past and failed! This time has been so different! I quit cold turkey! I’m assuming what I am feeling is my body heeling but I don’t ever remember having these symptoms before! I have slight chest discomfort, occasionally, I get lightheaded and I have noticed my heart rate drops all the way down in the low 50’s! Today, day 9, I woke up with a slight sore throat on the right side and tender to touch. Is this normal during this difficult time? I can tell you that I will not give in! I am a non smoker and just pray that the way I am feeling will get better with time!
