Janna, Congratulations on keeping your quit. You sure can't doubt your strength after that test!! And lightheadedness - hah. I can't remember when it actually stopped. But it was better than the dizziness after lighting up for the first time after not smoking for hours and hours; and without the smelly breath or cooking my gums and the lining of my mouth. Quitting is a little like labor pains. After a while I forgot the discomfort and inconveniences I experienced. Unlike labor pains however, I DO NOT want to repeat my quit! Stick with your fellow quitters - read a lot, post a lot, vent a lot, laugh a lot, cry when you have to, use your tools, drink tons of water, sleep, exercise, check your stats daily and reward yourself regularly, and love and be kind to yourself. You're doing something very difficult and healing from some pretty nasty toxins. Be very kind. Stay strong, you're awesome!! Way to go, Janna!! It can be very difficult to be around smokers at the beginning & you came through, you should be very proud of that. I was also quite light headed, constantly for the first week or so and then on & off for another week or so. Make sure you're eating right & keeping your blood sugar level, that will help with your energy, too. WOO HOO Janna! You should be VERY proud! Not one puff is the way to go!! I did experience lightheadedness on and off for the first couple of weeks. If it is severe, or continues, you might want to check in with your doctor. Thank you all so much for your support. I picked a heck of a time to quit. I quit the 12th and we went to the lake the 13th through the 17th, so I was with my husband smoking the whole time. Guess what though?????? I DID NOT SMOKE ONE CIGARETTE - NOT ONE PUFF! The patch was making my stomache upset, so I haven't used it since the 13th. Thursday and Friday were HORRIBLE. Thought I would die! I was angry with the world. I was shaking inside and out both days. I didn't think I smoked enough to have withdrawals.... I feel so much better now. It is easier and easier every day. I have a question ---- I read that you can be a little dizzy from your new oxygen intake level, but I am have lightheadedness quite a bit. Did anyone else experience this? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 120 Amount Saved: $30.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 13 Mins: 5 Seconds: 54

Woo Hoo Janna! Great advice from my fellow quitters. The only thing I'd add is to get some rewards in mind, especially for the first couple weeks. You are doing a great thing for yourself and small rewards to keep you going will really seal the deal. Also, try to leave those other quits in the past. This one is new and so try not to have any expectations - just ride whatever comes your way. It might be easier and more pleasant than you thought :) All the best My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1041 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20,820 Amount Saved: $4,684.50 Life Gained: Days: 79 Hrs: 12 Mins: 9 Seconds: 54

Janna, Hello and welcome- you've landed in the right spot for ongoing support and information. I also used the patch, my husband still smokes and I have quit multiple times- we can do this. If you truly want to quit the fact that your husband still smokes won't make a difference. I actually feel sorry for my husband now as I watch him continue to feed his nicotine addiction, but he is not ready to quit and I will not nag. Best of luck to you, read and post often!
