What are your boundaries?

15 years ago 0 80 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
So Impala Dude is Dave.  Good to know.  SO far behind the 8-ball ALL the time.  Story of my life.
Naive is not a word I would use to describe Impala Dave or anyone else who has quit more than 2 or 3 times.  We SO know what we're in for, and we develop our own boundaries (great term!) and tactics as we need to.

My boundary is my own sense of self and worth.  This may sound hoplelessly arrogant, but I am worth way too much to way too many people to screw them with my own self absorption.  The people I work for need more from me than a really, really BAD smell and BAD vibe that says "When will you be done so I can go smoke?".  I work for really bright, self-possessed people who deserve an equally bright and self-possessed person on their side.  They don't need an addict just waiting for his first chance to smoke.

But finally, I totally get that I can't quit for my clients, my peeps, my family, or even for my rep.  If I'm not quitting for myself, I'm not quitting; I'm just postponing the next smoke for a little longer.

Here's my boundary, and thanks so much for asking!!  My boundary is me.  I'm worth it.  YEAH!!!
