Mama K, this too will pass. You are making a major change in your life. Depression seems to come and go with my quit. I know it is getting better. is here when you need it. You might check out the SSC's companion depression web site at www.depressioncenter.net That can help you when you go in to talk with your doctor. Also, please know that depression can include actual physical symptoms. Your doctor can probably help you sort it all out. Good luck! MK, are you exercising? Many doctors today just want to prescribe a pill. Always look at alternatives to drugs. Be very concerned if he prescribes a anti-depressant. You're all such great buddies... Thanks for the encouragement and happy thoughts:) I'm really glad to not be smoking and even more happy to know all of you... I'm just disappointed to still be feeling some of these things that scared me into this quit in the first place (shortness of breath) plus these other weird eyelid, leg and arm pains. And the off thoughts that pop up. They are so weird! But maybe not as weird as they used to be... When I smoked, I almost believed I was warding off bad things from happening to me by keeping up a kind of standard and being extra tough on my body. Isn't that strange?! That was a pretty bad Junkie talking now that I know what I know! I do remember how much worse off I was prior to my quit. Things are so much better.... I'm taking a Yoga Late class once a week with one friend, and a Yoga Pilates class with another on the weekend... The Pilates instructor is half our age and merciless so we just held our abs and cheeks as tight as everyone else this weekend to show them... and now we have some work to do to loosen up for next week. (Ow!) That's a different muscle though then my upper back leg pain. I've had it awhile, and maybe the exercise I get now through walking and yoga will help. I'll be asking my doctor a few questions:) like... is there a new brain pill available to prevent me from spacing out in grocery isles? It's so hard to concentrate sometimes... but dinner turned out okay in spite of myself:) Blue Cloud, you are precious, and we will be okay. Here's a little (((hug))) from me:) I'll let you know how things go, and I won't smoke. I'm going to get my book and join papakitty and babykitty for a reading party on the bed before the dog and both cats take my spot:) Sniff. Mmmmm, Unhooked... Here's another happy thought: smell of a semi wet dog, babykitty with good book, aha! a small amount of wine and a piece of chocolate. Good night:) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/14/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 510 Amount Saved: $127.50 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 14 Mins: 9 Seconds: 39
