Try.. How much gum are you using. Getting off that gum MADE A HUGE...HUGE...HUGE DIFFERENCE. Your not getting next to any nicotine from that gum....but..ohhhhhhhhhhh...just enough to keep you miserable. Take it from me.... Dump the gum. After the couple of days off that gum it all turned around for me. After all the hard work....you don't want to give it up for a stupid few pieces of gum that is nothing more than a security blanket. Let me know how many pieces you are having. I know you are afraid to give it up. I know the feeling...but trust me....the fear isn't warrented. Tryagain, Sorry to hear you are craving. Be sure to reward yourself at the six month mark, that will certainly lift your mood! Are you still using the nicotine gum? Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

I am sorry that you are feeling so bad. You are doing SO GOOD though! Looking at the number of days that you and other members have gone without smoking has really helped me through this very rough first week. I hope it gets easier for you! Tryagain, So sorry to hear this is so hard for you right now. I am not too far behind you and some days I feel the same way. Like this part should be over by now. I know I can go most of the day without even thinking of smoking and then that ride home will get me or the after dinner one will get me and then i can't stop thinking about smoking. Not sure if this part of it is ever going to go away. I wish it would. I am just really glad that I am strong enough to say NO to it when it hits. I know 5 months ago it was harder to say no to it then it is now, so I guess progress has been made and we just need to keep going forward and pray for that day when we don't think of smoking at all! Hang in there and hopefully soon it will end and you can be free. It has not abated either. Woke up with the thought that I'd either smoke or commit suicide (not really)but it was pretty bad. It is six days shy of six months. It should be over by now. Well and goodly over. I'd like to go back to 30 days quit. It was so much better then. Really better. I had days that I didn't think about smoking at all.
