Hugs, this IS a great idea.  My 2011 highlight reel makes me smile.  I think about my son and my daughter's smiles and the sound of my husband giggling and the feeling I would get when I would run in a race.  This is my first year running and I run very slowly - but I love running in races!  It's like a parade.  You can wear funny costumes and people make signs and they cheer you on as you run by - I love it!  There was one race where the finish line was inside of our minor league baseball stadium; we got to run around the field and to give high fives to all of the kids, sitting in the stands.  I was crying like a baby, I was so happy to see all of those kids and it was such a sunny and beautiful day and my husband and kids were there.  Those are a few of my favorite things and highlights of 2011!

Hugs,

Great idea and Thread!

I had a new roof put on my home this year and just in time for the rainy season. I got out of the house more and started a walking program. I took some hobby type classes which I enjoyed. I took up reading again which I love. I am feeling much better emotionally and physically this year than I did last year..and last but not least I learned how to let myself relax this year...

Many media cable/tv channels put together documentaries of highlights of 2011 for viewers.

As we enter into a new calendar new year, I wonder if we can leave the negativity and worry behind for a few moments and share some personal highlights?

I got some overdue home renovations done, and an estimate that has to be tweaked for 2012 in the spring/summer.  I took some courses in areas where I was interested(cooking, photography) or needed skill building(finance, home renovation) and hope to to do the same in 2012.

What stood out for you in 2011?
