"Pop" Go the Kernels of Popcorn in My Head

I guess I have trouble with the increased energy, as it ebbs and flows.  But I asked for "it"...I wished to see this poem, and found it, after I heard about it on the tv.

Disturb Us, Lord

Sir Francis Drake

Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, Lord, when with the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst for the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life, we have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your mastery;
Where losing sight of land, we shall find the stars.

We ask You to push back the horizons of our hopes;
And to push into the future in strength, courage, hope and love.

Check out Sir Francis' background as the great 2nd in command of the English fleet against Spain.  Apparently, he had a 6.5M dollar bounty on his head by the King of Spain!

Hi Hugs:

It took me a bit to get back to my old self after my streph throat illness earlier this year.  It was so frustrating then - but now I believe that it only made my CBT stronger.

For example, this week has probably been my best week since starting the program.  I know that the next time I get sick or hurt will be a challenge - but a challenge I should be better prepared to handle.  I wish the same for you, Hugs.

As I recover from bronchitus, I'm coming back to the reality of my former state: unfocused.  My brain feels like a popcorn maker.

I was actually doing really well, but wonder how others come out of "other" sicknesses to their "former" normal self to resume living
