Dear Diane, My heart goes out to you. I have known personal loss and am a close friend with grief. You are in your grief. It is OK to be with it. It is also OK to have help getting through it. I know some pain takes years, and some never leaves. Who says we are supposed to be happy all the time? Life is full of changes, and you will survive. Deep sorrow brings a gift, the capacity for profound joy. You will be in my thoughts. neonath

Thank you all for the kind welcomes.  It is nice to know that there is support for those with a panic disorder.  It helps to know that people can relate to what you are going thru.

Welcome Diane.

The key word is time. It works, but it takes time. If it seems to be taking a long time just tell yourself that if you didn't do it it would take forever and that is a very, very long time.

Here for you,

Welcome Diane,

You have come to the right place.  We are here to support you.  You may also want to check out our sister site the Depression Program (www.depressioncenter.net)  for a CBT program and support group that focuses on Depression .

Make a schedule for yourself and stick with it.  This program is hard work but if you stick with it you will see results.

Hi Diane,

I am sure it's very hard. You are doing the right thing by seeing a therapist & the cbt program. I am sure in time things will get better for you. This is a great group of people.

My name is Diane.  I have panic disorder for about 20 years.  I have been on & off medication beacuase as most of you know you think you don't need it when you feel better.  This past year I lost a child in my 5th month of pregnancy.  Thought I was tough enough to deal with everything but when it came to the holidays I broke down.  That is when I was expecting to have my child with me.  I have been depressed for a long time & it caught up with me.  I have started back on Prozac & Klonpin to ease the anxiety.  Have been on them for about a month.  Still get anxious daily.  And I seem to cry alot.  But as I understand it is good to do that.  Instead of keeping my feelings inside, I need to let them be known.

My anxiety has caused me to not want to leave the house or be alone.  It is difficult for me to do that.  I just want to be myself again.  I hope that using this program will help me along with the therapist that I am working with.

thanks for reading.
Diane
