First Post

TaiPanTN, Welcome to the Panic Center! Call your family physician and schedule an appointment by phone. Ask him for a referral to a mental health professional in your area. Work from there. You can begin the program at the same time and bring or e-mail the results to your doctor or mental health professional. This will give them a clearer picture of you and how this disorder affects your daily life. Keep us posted, Danielle ___________________________ The PC Support Team

Broke up 2 months ago, whats wrong with me??

Ripper, Terminating any relationship is hard. It can take a long time before you are able to move on. Some people find it helpful to seek help from a mental health professional. He/she will also be able to assess whether or not your anxiety/OCD is playing a role in this situation. Danielle _________________________ The PC Support Team

New - Hello

Hi Kitty, Welcome to the Panic Center and thanks for introducing yourself. Be sure to take advantage of our program located on the left side of your screen and to read through some of our forums. There's lots of advice out there. Our CBT buddy is an instant messenger you download onto your computer. Once you've done so, you can add buddies to it. You do so by going through our forums and selecting add a buddy, an icon located beside each post. Then you're off to the races, our IM connects you instantly to the other members of our site who are online. If you have any other questions, just ask. Separation anxiety

Rowan, You can be without him you just need some more practice. You were going to shops and the gym! Start off slow and small and keep working at it. Work through the program and keep trying to find ways to challenge those anxious thoughts. You've already made some great headway! Congratulations! Remember, baby steps. You'll get there. We're cheering you on. Danielle _________________________ The PC Support Team

Why do we relapse?

Rowan, You're not alone! Many have felt just as you do now. Keeping a journal may help. You must focus on your successes and accomplishments. This journal may provide you with concrete evidence of better days. Anxiety can sneak up and when it does, you have to challenge it. You will have some bad days, some good but keep persevering, working through the program and the good will soon outnumber the bad. It's hard, it's a learning process but you are making such wonderful strides! Be proud of what you've accomplished, you're doing great! Danielle _____________________ The PC Support Team

Exposure Therapy

Hi Mishele, Welcome to the Panic Center! Try making a complete list and rank them in order of size and importance. Your first goal should be small, realistic and attainable. Start small taking baby steps and work up to those bigger challenges and the overall bigger picture. Good luck, keep us posted.
